In 1530 the French poet Etienne de La Boétie was born in Sarlat, a medieval town which came to life at the time of the Italian Renaissance. The «Maison Fénelon », classified as a historic French monument, was built almost a century earlier. We invite you to visit the apartment « La Boétie » on the 3rd floor of the house, a mixture of authenticity and comfort.
● The light and spacious living area combines dining room, lounge and kitchen.
● In the corridor, a statue of Buddha shows the way to the sleeping area. At the end of the corridor is the bedroom with its own independent W.C. In the serenity of this haven of peace you will be able to relax amidst the antique hand-sculpted stone recesses.
A modern and comfortable bathroom decorated with vanilla–coloured marble from Morocco provides the finishing touch.
Where does the charm which makes this place so pleasant come from ?
Perhaps simply, as Montaigne said of his friendship for La Boétie,
« ... because of who he was, because of who I was. »
We suggest that you come and experience these unique sensations for yourself.
